International Women’s Day 2023

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on March 8th to acknowledge the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women worldwide. It is a day to celebrate women’s progress, reflect on the ongoing struggles for gender equality, and take action toward a more inclusive and equitable world for all.

“Choose to Challenge”

The theme for International Women’s Day 2023 is “Choose to Challenge.” It is a call to action to challenge gender bias and inequality, break stereotypes, and create a more gender-balanced world. The theme is also a reminder that change begins with individual action, and everyone can play a role in creating a more inclusive and equitable society.

History of International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day has been observed since the early 1900s, and its roots can be traced back to the women’s suffrage movement. The movement aimed to secure women’s right to vote and equal representation in government, but it also highlighted the broader inequalities faced by women, including unequal pay, lack of access to education, and discrimination in the workplace.

Today, International Women’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world, and it has become a global movement for gender equality. It is an opportunity to raise awareness about the challenges faced by women, recognize their achievements, and call for action to address the issues they face.

Key Issues

One of the key issues that International Women’s Day aims to address is gender inequality in the workplace. Despite progress in recent decades, women continue to face significant barriers to equal pay, promotions, and leadership positions. Women are also more likely to work in low-paid and insecure jobs, which can affect their economic security and well-being.

To address these issues, organizations and governments around the world are implementing policies and programs to promote gender equality in the workplace. These include measures such as pay equity, flexible work arrangements, parental leave, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. However, more needs to be done to address the root causes of gender inequality and create a more inclusive and equitable society for all.

PRJKT RUBY’s Commitment and Contribution

PRJKT RUBY is committed to providing affordable and accessible contraception to women worldwide. Since our inception, we have been committed to supporting women’s health and well-being, and one of our key initiatives has been to partner with Population Services International (PSI). Through this partnership, PRJKT RUBY has donated over $185,000 to PSI to help women gain access to contraception and family planning services in underserved communities around the world. This funding has been crucial in enabling PSI to expand its programs and reach more women, providing them with the resources and support they need to make informed decisions about their reproductive health. PRJKT RUBY’s commitment to women’s health and well-being is an inspiring example of how businesses can make a positive impact on the world.

Recognizing Women’s Achievements

International Women’s Day is also an opportunity to recognize the contributions of women in all areas of society, including science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), arts and culture, politics, and community development. It is a chance to celebrate the achievements of women who have broken barriers and paved the way for future generations.

The Fight Continues

In conclusion, International Women’s Day is a reminder of the ongoing struggles for gender equality and the need for action to create a more inclusive and equitable society. It is a day to celebrate the achievements of women, recognize their contributions, and call for action to address the challenges they face. Let us all “Choose to Challenge” gender bias and inequality and work towards a more gender-balanced world.
